Cynthia Daniel Wolf likes to say her Adelante! Gallery spreads love and joy one painting at a time. And through Monday, the gallery will spread the joy and serenity of nature through Clive R. Tyler's landscapes and pastels.

For the sixth year, Tyler's work will be on display and available for sale at the gallery, 3003 Paseo. What impresses Wolf, and what she assures will impress others, is Tyler's use of color and sense of place.

"It just seems like you can walk into each painting," she said.

Based out of Taos, N.M., Tyler is an impressionist and en plein air painter, which means he paints outdoors. These techniques give his work a certain glow, which Wolf credits to him "being right there" as he paints.

Wolf, an artist and photographer herself, has been friends with Tyler for 10 years, and said it was only natural to feature his work when she started her gallery seven years ago. Both are interested in Western landscapes and scenes.

A winner of numerous awards, Tyler has had work featured in exhibits across the country, which Wolf said makes having his paintings here all the more remarkable.

"It's wonderful to have a nationally known artist that is willing to show their work in Oklahoma, because it's a way for people to see their work close by at home," she said.

The exhibit ends its run Monday. The gallery has extended hours this week for "Prix de West," and will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 525-4039 or visit www.adelantegallery.com. "”Nicole Hill
