Quick info could turn out long-term benefits.

“Enlighten us! But make it quick.”

That’s the slogan for IgniteOKC, coming Thursday to Lyric at the Plaza, 1725 N.W. 16th, for its third incarnation.

IgniteOKC is a networking event that brings together people from all around the metro, giving anyone who wants a chance to present on a topic they are passionate about, said Vu Nguyen, an organizer for the event. It provides attendees a unique opportunity to connect with a wide range of knowledgeable people from diverse backgrounds.

“Presenters are given five minutes and 20 slides that move continuously, whether they’re ready to move on or not. The fast pace of it all makes the atmosphere very fun and upbeat,” he said. “It’s an awesome event to go to. There will be a lot of movers and shakers in the community attending, so it provides people with a lot of great networking opportunities.”

IgniteOKC begins at 7 p.m., with doors open at 5:30 p.m. A block party will be held beforehand with food and live music performed by Moon. Admission is free, but VIP tickets can be purchased for $10 to guarantee seats. All proceeds will benefit the Oklahoma City Metro Literacy Coalition.
