'Carnal' knowledge

Billing itself as Oklahoma’s most ambitious erotic arts event, the Carnality Ball aims to blend performance, art and fetish culture.

On Friday, explore your uninhibited side at the Carnality Ball. Themed “No Taboo,” this year’s installment runs from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at Club Raw, 3034 N. Portland.

Last year, more than 1,500 people attended the event, which celebrates the erotic arts in the Oklahoma City area. It continues to grow annually, said organizer Nicole Moan.

“It all got started because I just wanted to have a show featuring different types of performance art,” she said. “People are going to see everything from ballet to burlesque to aerial dance.”

Performers include Teaze Dance & Fitness, Body Art Factory, 7 Deadly Sins Revue and Moan herself. In addition to featuring musicians and performance artists, fashion designers and local artists will man their own booths to display their works.

“The Carnality Ball is an event that lets everyone be themselves for the night,” Moan said. “We want people to go into sensory overload when they walk in, and I think we’re definitely going to accomplish that.”

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. VIP tickets can also be purchased for $50. For more information, call 414-7723 or visit carnalityball.com. —Courtney Silva
