The animated adventure “Clifford’s Really Big Movie” kicks off the “Summer Movie Fun” series at Harkins.

Courtney Silva May 24th, 2011

This summer, kids age 12 and under will be able to beat the heat when Harkins Bricktown Cinemas 16, 150 E. Reno, begins its annual “Summer Movie Fun” series on Monday with a showing of the 2004 animated film “Clifford’s Really Big Movie.”

Showing at 9:45 a.m. for 10 consecutive weeks, Mondays through Fridays, the lineup includes the recent double Academy Award nominee “How to Train Your Dragon,” plus the family friendly favorites “Megamind,” “Alpha and Omega,” “Despicable Me,” “Ramona and Beezus,” “Yogi Bear,” “Shrek Forever After,” “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” and “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.”

Bryan Laurel, marketing director for Harkins Theatres, said that the “Summer Movie Fun” program — in existence for more than 30 years — is a great way for children to escape the sun and do something fun.

“Not only does it give kids something to do indoors instead of being out in the sun all day, but it’s an affordable solution for parents who are looking for things for their children to do without breaking the bank,” he said.

Season tickets are $5 each, but individual tickets also may be purchased for $2. For more information, visit harkinstheatres.com. —Courtney Silva
