A metro-area nonprofit is asking residents to share their traditions in the form of a gift basket this year.

Family Expectations is a free community program for lower-income couples expecting a baby or who just had a baby.

"We wanted to do something that would be a lasting memory for these couples," said David Kimmel, Family Expectations site administrator. "We want people to share their traditions with couples who perhaps don't have many of their own yet."

DETAILS
The gift baskets will be given to Oklahoma families at the holiday party on Dec. 10. More than 500 families are expected to attend the event.

Baskets should be valued at $50 or more, and items can include:
" ornaments,
" CDs,
" Christmas books or
" any other item representing a family tradition.

Monetary donations are also welcome. Deliver donations by Dec. 7 to Jonathan Combs at 301 N.W. 63rd, Suite 600.

For more information, call 639-2054 or visit their site. "Lauren Parajon
