The CW Network’s local affiliate, CW34, hosts a casting call for the 18th season of “America’s Next Top Model,” from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The call, part of a national search for the reality series’ next contestants, offers women from Oklahoma and surrounding states their chance to hit the television screen. It takes place at Will Rogers Theater, 4322 N. Western.

Applicants must be between 18 and 27, and 5’7” or taller, but CW34 spokesperson Stephanie Sims said that’s not all they look for.

“They definitely look for personality, that’s one reason why the application is 11 pages long,” Sims said.
Sims suggested that girls interested retrieve the application from their website so they can complete it before the call. Only the first 100 girls to meet the requirements will be accepted.

JUDGE YE NOT
The CW34 has hosted these casting calls before, but has yet to yield any contestants for the show. Sims said that applicants do not just come from Oklahoma.

“We get girls from all over this region that will drive for their shot,” she said, noting that judging will not take place Sunday, as that job is reserved for the show’s producers.

The 17th season premieres in September, and Sims said the 18th should begin next spring.
Because of the requirements and low number of available spots, they do often have to turn some girls away.

“It’s very sad to turn girls away, but we just have to stick to the network’s guidelines,” Sims said.
