His 'Cup' runneth over

Gazette staff December 21st, 2011

When he’s not busy patrolling the sideline at Sooner football games, owning a restaurant or counting his untold piles and piles of cash, Toby Keith apparently records music.

As it happens, the Norman resident is so good at making music that his recent album “Clancy’s Tavern” debuted at the top of the country chart, and the hit single “Red Solo Cup,” is the No. 1 iTunes country download.

Looking for more income diversity, Keith released his signature Wild Shot Mezcal, a “tequila-like libation.” It’s the No. 1 premium mezcal in the U.S. (are there any others?), and (per Toby’s preference) is best chilled for sipping. Or you can just fill your red Solo cup with it and party hard. We might just go with the latter.

I can't tell where the story ended and the sarcasm began.  But then again, I really don't like country music or Toby Keith, so no loss there.
