Bummer in the city

Gazette staff January 18th, 2012

If you feel a certain electricity in the air, no need to panic — unless, of course, you really do feel electricity in the air, in which case, run like hell — chances are you’re just caught up in the excitement of Mayor Mick Cornett’s impending State of the City address.

In the annual speech, slated for Thursday at the Cox Convention Center, da mayor is expected to recount some of the wonderful things that have happened in OKC over the past year, from continued development of MAPS 3 to Boeing bringing more than 1,000 jobs here.

While that’s all fine and dandy, CFN holds little hope Mayor Mick might also address several other issues causing us sleepless nights:

—Isn’t it time we re-examined this thing about naming airports (Will Rogers, Wiley Post) after people who died in plane crashes?

—Will the public be allowed to hock loogies from atop Devon tower?

—Why can you never find a Bricktown water taxi when you really need one?
