Cheyenne-Arapaho artist Brent Learned’s bold, vibrant paintings of the American Plains Indian are now on display at the East Gallery of the Oklahoma state Capitol, 2300 N. Lincoln.

Through Feb. 12, “Life Before Statehood” can be glimpsed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends. Admission is free. Call 521-2931 or visit arts.ok.gov.
