The owner of the now-closed and already missed Ruth’s Sweete Justice, Ruth Rickey (pictured), is on the move again. When asked what’s in her future, she said, “I have developed my own line of petal dust, and I will have my own line of [tools] to make sugar flowers.”

Local restaurants recognized
OpenTable, a leading provider of free, real-time online restaurant reservations, recently announced the Diners’ Choice Awards for the top 100 restaurants in the U.S. Some locals made the cut!
The Metro Wine Bar & Bistro, 6418 N. Western, and The Coach House, 6437 Avondale Drive, were among the winners. The list of winners is taken from more than 10 million reviews submitted by OpenTable diners.
New Whataburger opens
Louis Coly is the manager at the newest Whataburger, 5315 N. May, that opened just weeks ago in northwest Oklahoma City. “It’s going fantastic,” Coly said.
The Northwest Chamber of Commerce invited the community to take part in its grand opening. In the hamburger business, this one is known as Whataburger No. 79.
Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett was the kingpin behind thousands of OKC residents who recently and collectively lost more than 1 million pounds. That weight-loss program originated in 2008. His Honor himself lost 40 pounds and has kept it off.
How did you do it? “I just ate less, but I have always exercised. People are constantly putting food in front of me, and I was putting on 10 pounds a year.”
Can’t resist: “Desserts — I have a real sweet tooth, but have given up bread, pasta and potatoes.”
