I’m not a huge fan of malls, in most cases, but sometimes, it’s nice to have a bounty of stores in a tight collection around you. At the Outlet Shoppes at Oklahoma City (7624 W. Reno; 787-3700), it’s a pleasant mix of proximity and fresh air.
Also, the parking wasn’t an issue, and that always makes for a better retail therapy session in my book. The best part about the growing market in OKC is the availability of products once only attainable by way of online shopping or trips to other states.
Although Dillard’s already carried some BCBG items, the Outlet Shoppes have an entire store devoted to them. This label, one of the more wearable, is the Kryptonite to my shopping superwoman; you can always expect interesting cuts and bold colors.
While you’re in, check out the handbags and shoes, too. Some killer sales were going on when I was there. If you’re angling to add in some pieces of a label, but are on a budget, it’s the perfect balance.
DKNY is another fun, bright designer that hasn’t been available to the metro masses in pure form.
Although I wasn’t particularly excited about the actual shop when I was in, I’m looking forward to its growth. I was impressed with the selection for men, however, so, guys, this is a must-stop spot for you.
I must admit, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th was one of the main reasons I braved Interstate 40 westbound. Off 5th is loaded with shoes, jewelry, clothes and even a little something for the home.
You can spend a fair amount of time in this place, so make sure you give yourself an ample afternoon to explore the threads. You won’t be sorry — although your bank account might be.
If you haven’t done so already, take some time and check on the progress that this city has made by way of shopping expansion. There’s a little something for everyone there.
Be on the lookout, because this spring, you’ll see the addition of White House Black Market, American Eagle Outfitters and Naartjie Kids. Let’s shop, OKC!
