Olympic gold medalist Shannon Miller will appear at a community health forum, scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 18 at Edmond Memorial High School, 1000 E. 15th in Edmond. The event is part of the school’s award-winning community service project, Swine Week.

Miller, the most decorated American gymnast and recent cancer survivor, will share her story with fellow Oklahomans to raise money for Swine Week beneficiary Oklahoma Project Woman, oklahomaprojectwoman.org a nonprofit dedicated to breast health education and prevention. This year’s fundraising goal is $350,000.

“I’m excited to be back in Oklahoma, in the community where I grew up, to speak,” Miller said. “It’s important for all women to make their health a priority, and I hope that by sharing my cancer story, I’m able to help others going through their own journey.”

Admission is $10, all of which goes directly to Oklahoma Project Woman, but kids age 3 and under are admitted free. Miller will be available for a limited time to sign autographs and take photos with attendees before and after the forum.
