With fishing time right around the corner, the 29th Annual Oklahoma Tackle Show has more than 150 exhibitors ready to get you "hooked" up.
From Thursday to Sunday, the biggest tackle show of its kind in the Southwest will be held in the Travel & Transportation Building at State Fair Park, 333 Gordon Cooper.
At $7, tickets grant you face time with some of the country's top-rated fishing specialists, and also include admission to the 10th Annual Oklahoma Hunting Pavilion.
"It's the ultimate cabin fever reliever," said Todd Jameson, Oklahoma Tackle Show president. "People have been cooped up all winter, and most sportsmen have not had the chance to be outdoors, so this is the perfect opportunity to see all the latest and greatest fishing supplies. It's like being a kid in a candy store."
The seminars include:
" fishing tips from crappie expert and Lake Eufaula guide Todd Huckabee;
" "Mr. Crappie" himself, Wally Marshall; and
" Chuck Justice, host of the "Trophy Bass Scouts" and "Let's Go Huntin'" television programs.
"The professional fishermen act like a network community. They all speak the same language," Jameson said. "This is a great chance to hear their expert advice."
Guests also have the chance to purchase from a large and exclusive collection of tackle, fishing supplies and manufactures' displays, as well as obtain more information about resorts, guides and travel opportunities available in the Sooner State.
