Their fight is very inspiring to me
and my family. I am proud to be a gay woman, an Oklahoman, and to be
present during this great time of change. A time where we get to witness
our leaders stand up against deep-rooted biases, where our neighbors
courageously fight to have their relationship recognized by the state,
and where I am safe to simply walk hand-in-hand with my partner on city
streets.
Thank you, Sharon and Mary. Thank you for standing up, demanding recognition, and encouraging us all to raise our voices for change. I can’t speak for the community as a whole, but as for me and my family, you are admired, supported, and hopefully soon, will be rewarded with the right to be legally wed in this beautiful state we call “home.”
