Chef Kurt Fleischfresser is hosting a fundraising dinner for Posthuman, an independent film project made by Oklahomans, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Will Rogers Theater, 4322 N. Western.

“I wanted to be a part of helping Oklahoma’s upcoming artists and filmmakers,” Fleischfresser said.

Written by Oklahoma native Matt Price, Posthuman is a superhero movie about the teenage experience. It is now being shot in Oklahoma City and at Quartz Mountain with local cast and crew. Director Kyle Roberts called it “the next evolution in Oklahoma filmmaking.”

“Even two years ago we couldn’t do this film at the quality and level we want to do under $200,000,” Roberts said. “It would be at least $2 million. But with the advancement of technology, the professionalism of our cast and crew and Oklahoma being a very film-friendly state, we can do this thing. We don’t have to wait for Hollywood to green-light a movie anymore. People demand and support what they want now.”

The evening will include a silent auction and the live performance of a scene from Posthuman.

Tickets are $40 and a table of eight can be reserved for $280. Each ticket enters you in a drawing to win an iPhone5.
