Flaming bingo

Gazette staff October 3rd, 2012

As if there wasn’t enough to see and do at a Flaming Lips show, a St. Louis newsweekly has created Flaming Lips bingo cards. While it’s unlikely Wayne Coyne will be calling out B-9 or A-17 at shows, players can daub their cards for spotting things like a Confetti Cannon, a Creepy Santa, Fake Blood and Lady Parts, illustrated on one of six different cards, each with 25 squares.

The Riverfront Times, St. Louis’s altweekly, said that the cards were created with images one is likely to see at a Lips show. They debuted in conjunction with the group’s closing out the LouFest, held there on Aug. 25-26.

The paper said the Lips have always treated St. Louis well, and the cards are a way to celebrate what it called a “detail-oriented band,” that has a massive and fervent following in the Gateway to the West.

While there are no rules, and no prizes, perhaps users can dip their bingo cards in LSD, cut out the squares, and distribute their own prizes to winners. Not that we’re suggesting that, mind you.
