Although the market officially opens Thursday, shoppers can get a head start on the deals tonight at the Sip, Shop and Mingle Mistletoe Market Preview Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets for the pre-party are $50 at the door or $40 in advance.
Patrons will get to scope out the market first, nab hot items that sell out quickly and participate in a silent auction.
The Junior League of Oklahoma City presents Mistletoe Market, which is now in its 21st year. Proceeds go toward JLOC community projects; this year’s profits will be contributed to Changing Lives Through Literacy.
“I think Mistletoe Market is a great opportunity to find unique items for family members and for Christmas,” said Mandi Briggs, the print and marketing chair for Mistletoe Market. “There are great specials and really fun and different items that you can’t find in-store.”
Patrons can sample dishes from restaurants and catering companies such as Local, In the Raw, Kyle’s 1020 and Cooking Girl. Shoppers can look forward to repeat vendors like CaBella A Casa selling trendy Christmas decor and wreaths, Shan Collections featuring pewter home and kitchen accessories, and Austin shop Leighelena selling handcrafted leather and enamel jewelry.
Among the vendors making their Mistletoe debut are Home Fields, Inc. with 3-D replica stadiums, La Bella Italia with artisan-crafted French and Italian tables, Glam Girls Plus with chic plussize clothing and Provisions for Men with unique gift items for the guys on your list.
Speaking of the men, the JLOC has arranged an area for relaxation. Sports fans can stop by the Mathis Brothers Sports Lounge and check in on their games.
The JLOC provides daily deals and special events. During the Thursday “power hour” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., marketgoers who donate a book receive $1 off admission. Friday, kids can meet Rumble the Bison from 4 to 6 p.m. and take home a free book while supplies last. On Saturday, ladies can participate in Makeovers and Mimosas, where they will learn about items from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.
Mistletoe Market is an annual one-stop shopping experience for Oklahomans that supports a worthy cause. Tickets for the market can be purchased online or at the door.
