Bad Moon rising

Gazette staff November 7th, 2012

Usually when attorneys argue, there’s a judge around to either tell them to hush up or threaten them with contempt of court.

Unfortunately, on Oct. 7 at an Oklahoma City bar, the only form of jurisprudence available was street justice featuring Lewis B. Moon, an OKC attorney. Apparently he and another attorney, identified by The Oklahoman as Edmond lawyer James Pasquali, had some beef.

It’s noteworthy that Moon was the star of a video released by the Warr Acres Police Department in 2008 after he was arrested near a Whataburger for public intoxication. In that video, Moon loudly demanded to be taken to the county lockup and name-dropped influential people in the Oklahoma County justice system in an effort to be let go.

And just a month prior to the latest incident involving Moon, the state Supreme Court had censured him for his run-ins with the law, at least two of which involved alcohol.

According to the Oct. 7 police report, Pasquali was at the Thunder Roadhouse bar when Moon and another man, James Randall Dodd, began harassing him about paying back money he supposedly owed Dodd. They claimed Pasquali failed to adequately represent Dodd’s son in an auto accident case.

Moon and Dodd allegedly began threatening Pasquali. At one point, according to the police report, “County Boss” Moon grabbed Pasquali by the collar and said he would have him killed and his children raped by “people from Houston,” where Boss Moon owns some car lots.

The Oklahoman went into greater detail of what Boss Moon allegedly said, using a racial epithet to describe people he would send to rape and kill Pasquali’s “pretty daughter.”

Moon also allegedly threatened to smash the man’s head in with a bat if he went to the cops and to jam a pen in his neck if Pasquali didn’t pay up, according to police.

Apparently concerned that he wasn’t getting his point across, Boss Moon then reportedly rattled off some dialogue from a favorite movie of fake hard-asses everywhere, Casino. Wha’, Goodfellas isn’t good enough for him? We would’ve figured it was an ideal time to pull out a “now go home and get your fuckin’ shine box” line.
