Keith Paul and his posse are the bee’s knees, the cat’s pajamas, good eggs — A Good Egg Dining Group, to be precise.

The company, of which Paul is a co-founder and co-owner, has refurbished an old downtown building to house Kitchen No. 324, named for its address, 324 N. Robinson.

The eatery is scheduled to open late this month.

Historically, A Good Egg reimagines historic buildings as restaurants — Cheever’s and Red PrimeSteak, most notably — then makes it happen.

A 3,500-square-foot space in the Braniff Building has been converted into a cafe and bakery. Kitchen No. 324 will feature approximately 50 kinds of baked goods — including bread, scones, cookies and muffins — as well as small-batch coffees.

Paul said he believed downtown Oklahoma City needed a place that cared passionately about both baked goods and artisanal coffee.

“When we travel, we find these places in other cities,” he said, “We’ve always been attracted to downtown.”

The cafe will feature an “ever-changing menu” in addition to the baked goods, according to Paul. Ingredients will be sourced locally as much as possible.

Inside, the restaurant is open-concept, so diners can watch the chefs and bakers at work. Seating capacity is 88, but more will be available outside, with patio furniture planned for spring.

Kitchen No. 324 will be open seven days a week: from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends.
