If you’re feeling adventurous and want a cultural experience or if you’re on the go and want to grab a smoothie, the metro offers all that and everything in between.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe
3131 W. Memorial

“Smoothie” might be in the name, but it also serves wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and salads. As far as smoothies, it’s got low-fat, supercharged, indulgent and supplement-rich options. Choose from energizers, protein supplements and “stress defense” add-ins. Flavors include Blimey Limey, Rockin’ Raspberry and Chocolate Chiller.

Saturn Grill
1012 N. Walker

The same menu and service you’ve loved at the Nichols Hills location all these years is now in Midtown! Stop in and welcome it to the area. Enjoy a daily soup, or a sandwich and salad combo, perfect for a quick lunch. It’s nestled by the Midtown YMCA, and it offers plenty of post-workout dinner options, too.

Kabsa House
1710 E. Second, Edmond

This Saudi Arabian restaurant, preparing authentic fare like lamb, rice and raisins, gyros, falafel and rotisserie chicken, opened in December 2011, but just moved from Oklahoma City to Edmond in October. It’s still owned and operated by Abraham Ahmed and serving the same delicious food, so check out the new digs.

Cafe 501
5825 N.W. Grand

Guess who has a brand-new menu? Cafe 501, that’s who. The bakery cranks out fresh baked goods daily, and the menu boasts a parmesan-crusted chicken and tomato salad or a grilled vegetable sandwich. Brunch now showcases an expanded menu ranging from decadently sweet to tastefully savory.

The Library Food & Spirits
119 N. Robinson

If you’re bustling around downtown, busy and hungry, pop into The Library, because there is a completely redone menu awaiting your taste buds. Sign up for its weekly email updates for specials. Last week, for example, was beef tips and rice, chicken pot pie and fish and chips on Friday. Enjoy weekly happy hours, too.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill
4130 Northwest Expressway

Garbanzo makes it easy for you; Build your own entrée. Start with pita, laffa or a platter. Then choose a protein: all-natural chicken falarma, steak shwarma, falafel, portobello mushrooms or hummus. Add greens, and you’ve got yourself a meal. The restaurant also caters meetings and events.

Fogon de Edgar
2416 N.W. 23rd

Don’t pass up this newly opened Latin American, uptown gem. Its owner describes the fare as “la mejor comida Colombiana,” which translates to “the best Colombian food.” You’ll find dishes with fried plantains, for sure, as well as steak and rice, marinated pork and plenty of sautéed vegetables to go alongside. Enjoy a daily lunch special under $7.
