Oklahoma Gazette Chicken Fried News: Wayne Coyne's hands

Word to the wise if you plan on traveling to Australia anytime soon with a bag full of novelties: Keep your eyes on your giant stage props. The Flaming Lips learned that the hard way last week when someone swiped the supersized laser hands favored by front man Wayne Coyne.

The OKC-based Lips issued an emergency tweet Jan. 4 via its Twitter account, although the concise wording sure sounded like it had come from the elegant quill of Coyne: “Fuck!!!!!! Someone stole Laser Hands!!! Please please please!! At South Bound Festival !!!Fuck!! Help us!!!”

Concert organizers even got in on the search, offering an award to whomever returned the purloined palms. The sordid affair evidently ended the following day, when Coyne tweeted that they'd been found.

There's no word on who took the hands in the first place. Chicken-Fried News only can assume the thief had some mighty big pockets.
