OKG7 breakfast stops

Every week, we give you seven OKC-area restaurants to explore.

Jenn Scott February 6th, 2013

Whether you’re craving carbs or protein, salty or sweet, breakfast is the most important meal of the day — any day of the week.

Good Gravy Diner
8014 N. Western
842-6200

This mom-and-pop diner serves up breakfast food with your choice of more than 40 types of gravy ranging from chocolate to jalepeño chorizo. Grab the Breakfast at Large, which includes two eggs, hash browns, ham, one sausage patty, two strips of bacon and two biscuits with your choice of gravy.

Syrup Breakfast Boutique
123 E. Main, Norman
701-1143

If you’d like your waffles and pancakes inside a sleek and modern room with chandeliers and other high-end touches, Syrup is your place. This Norman nosh also features its Morning Glory, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage and cheese piled atop a waffle.

Abraham’s Western Cafe
4716 N. Western
528-5152

You might assume from the signage that this longtime diner served onion burgers exclusively. That’s not the case! Get the bacon and cheese omelet with pancakes, toast or hash browns, or enjoy the French toast. Stay simple with a short stack and an orange juice or coffee.

Sunny Side Up
110 S.E. 19th, Moore
793-2450

If you’re up early on the south side of the metro, get your coffee and breakfast fix at Sunny Side Up. Omelets start at just $4.99, and you can build them into anything you’re craving. From vegetable to Spanish to pineapple, the choices are plentiful.

Fancy That
215 E. Main, Norman
fancythat.us 307-0541

Who wouldn’t want a fancy breakfast burrito for brunch? Especially when it comes stuffed with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and house-made green chili. Get even fancier with the blackened salmon over toasted ciabatta bread and a house-made tomato basil hollandaise.

Katie’s Country Griddle
229 S. Santa Fe, Edmond
359-6372

Build your own breakfast with your choice of all the staples: pancakes, eggs, French toast, sausage and hash browns, just to mention a few. Get a variety of biscuit creations, with or without sausage gravy, and a smattering of eggs and cheese to boot.

The Hungry Frog
1101 N. Pennsylvania
524-0686

At The Hungry Frog, it’s important to, well, come hungry! Enjoy your hash browns, eggs and toast as your sides with its juicy grilled pork chops. Maybe you prefer chicken-fried steak or regular steak. Either way, you won’t leave without a full belly.
