According to a recent study by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the state ranks 10th in the nation for dog ownership and 18th for cat ownership. According to the report, 43 percent of Oklahomans own dogs and almost 33 percent have cats.
The national average is 36.5 percent for dogs and 30.4 percent for cats. And while Chicken-Fried News can’t prove it, we suspect that entire 30.4 percent is clogging up our Instagram feed.
