Viva la renaissance

Spring means floral patterns and neon tops. It means lighter fabrics and bare legs.

A Date with Iris

And it’s a chance to come out of winter’s hibernation mode. If you’d like a refresh to align with the new season, there are a few ways to accomplish that.

I don’t know about you, but new seasons always prompt me to change my hair color. It’s fun and shakes things up — and embracing a lighter, brighter color helps set the tone of a new season.

Revel Eight Salon & Spa (201 N.W. 10th; 702-1688) is a brand-new space in the beautiful, old Packard Building. Talk about a renaissance! The building is leading the way in Midtown’s revitalization. Not too long ago, the area was filled with vacant structures. Now, it’s bursting with options — in this case, a haven for celebrating beauty, love and life.

At Revel, you’ll have your pick of anything involving your hair to the spa side of things, which packs a variety of services. The salon has two rooms for aromatherapy, massages (25 techniques available), facials and energy healing.

Squeeze an appointment in on your lunch break, because Revel provides a shower to rinse off any oils that might not mesh well with work attire.

To check it out and meet the crew, attend Revel’s grand opening from 7 to 10 p.m. April 6.

Of course you’ve considered your own wardrobe updates, but what about the minis in your life? They need springtime clothes, too! Keedo Kids Clothes (12100 N. May; 607-0887) in Northpark Mall is filled with pastels, florals and some of the most adorable kidswear in town.

If you still haven’t picked up Easter service clothes for your babes, or if you want to spoil a niece or nephew with a stylin’ spring outfit, Keedo has plenty of options.

It’s a veritable Vera Bradley headquarters, as well, with a new shipment of bags in a variety of sizes, all in spring patterns and colors.

Another great way to usher in some change is sprucing up your personal spaces with new décor. Just the sight of new pretty things helps brighten the day.

It’s no surprise that A Date with Iris (4201 N. Western; 604-5959) is stuffed to the gills with spring-themed items for decorating. It’s a space full of amazing energy that inspires creativity.

Iris has Barr-Co. products in a perfectly fresh scent for the spring. Or pick up some fresh flowers to put on your table or in the office for a natural floral scent.

Spruce up your hair, your kiddo’s wardrobe or the spaces that mean the most to you in celebration of the new season. Let’s shop, OKC!
