Since Alex Wehrley’s arrival in Oklahoma City, the host of KSBI Channel 52’s Oklahoma Live! has wasted no time getting involved with the community.

That includes sitting on the board of Race Dance Company, taking an active role in Better Block OKC and now serving as emcee of Saturday night’s Oklahoma Fashion Week event.

A native of the Badger State, where she nabbed the crown for Miss Wisconsin in 2009, Wehrley moved to Oklahoma last fall.

Given that she hosts a TV segment on lifestyle and current events, perhaps it’s only natural that she was asked to emcee this year's OFW, which benefits the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

OFW celebrates creativity and talent of local designers, as well as those from New York City, Chicago, Dallas and more.

Wehrley expressed her love of local shopping, listing DNA Galleries, Collected Thread and Blue Seven as some of her fave local boutiques.

“I definitely have that little bit of that casualness to me, because people are very laid-back and down-to-earth in Wisconsin. It's kinda convenient, because in Oklahoma people are very down-to-earth, as well,” she said. “Quite honestly, when I'm not on air, I like to be very casual and comfortable.”

Her personal preference is casual with a bold accessory, but for red carpet events, she loves getting glammed up and donning a pretty dress.

For OFW, her dress will be from local designer Melysha Reed.
