OKG7 late-night nomz

Jenn Scott June 5th, 2013

What do you do when hunger strikes after 8 p.m.? Head out to one of your favorite metro eateries, of course!

Banana Island
1117 N.W. 25th
bananaislandokc
602-1188

This Malaysian joint rocks a menu featuring coconut milk-based curries and spicy, delicious fare. Start with the Indian pancake no matter what, and try the mango salad or pineapple fried rice, which comes in a hollowed-out pineapple husk.

The Mont

1300 Classen Blvd., Norman
themont.com
329-3330

If you’ve never tried this iconic Norman hot spot, make an excuse to do so. It’s open until 2 a.m. daily, so there you go! Try one of the burgers: the queso burger, made with chili con queso or the garden burger, a healthier option with herbed mayo.

Joey’s Pizzeria

700 W. Sheridan
joeyspizzeriaokc.com
525-8503

Start with Joey’s meatballs, or attempt the sampler platter if you’re in the mood for variety. Can’t decide between meatballs and pizza? Then don’t! Joey’s meatball pizza will hit the spot. Of course, additional toppings are available if you want something besides the basics.

Bolero

200 S. Oklahoma
bolerotapasbar.com
602-0652

Whether you perch yourself indoors or outdoors at this Bricktown tapas bar, you’ll enjoy the open atmosphere as well as the upscale, yet relaxed, cuisine. Even if you aren’t hungry and don’t try anything else, you have to partake of the golden-fried goat cheese drizzled with honey.

Tapwerks Ale House & Cafe
121 E. Sheridan
tapwerks.com
319-9599

The place is open late, has an extensive beer list and serves its full menu until late. What more could you want? It’s pub food with a gourmet twist. The Monte Cristo, a ham and turkey sandwich with mustard on sourdough, is lightly battered and deep-fried.

Beverly’s Pancake Corner

3315 Northwest Expressway
848-5050

Post-last call, Beverly’s is your go-to gal. For more than 80 years, this beloved pancake house has served up hot coffee, pancakes (duh), a dish called Chicken in the Rough and a variety of desserts, including pie. The diner is open 24 hours a day.

Big Truck Tacos
530 N.W. 23rd
bigtrucktacos.com
525-8226

Up and around for breakfast? Grab The Zig, a potato, spinach, black bean and avocado concoction that will surely get you hooked on BTT. For dinner or late-night dinner, try the I-40 Pile Up, your choice of spiced meat, rice, beans, BTT cheese blend and veggies.
