OKG7 new nomz

Every week, we give you seven OKC-area restaurants to explore.

From sweet to heat, your taste buds have plenty of new spots from which to choose.

Simply Sweet Candy Buffets and Dessert Bar
501 S. Mustang Road

Sometimes all one needs is a chocolate-covered Oreo, or a custom push-up pop made with cake or brownie. Complete with a full bakery, this confectionary will surely satisfy your sweet tooth.

Wes Welker’s Sports Bar and Grill
3121 W. Memorial

You don’t need to be an NFL wide receiver to receive tasty appetizers such as duck nachos or chicken and waffle bites. For the main course, choices range from sandwiches to sirloins.

5820 N. Classen Blvd.

Mahi ceviche, classic margaritas and a dash of class are what you can expect at Tamazul. Kick things off in delicious fashion with queso a la plancha, made with pickled chiles and tequila.

The Hall’s Pizza Kitchen

Mobile truck

The good thing about pizza is, well, everything. This mobile concept offers wood-fired pizza on wheels. Check it out on Facebook and Twitter (@ TheHallsPizza) to find out where your next meal will be.

Pub W

3720 W. Robinson, Norman

Start with buffalo shrimp or pigs in a blanket, because why not? Pub W offers soups, salads and sandwiches, but do yourself a favor and try the pot roast or chipotle meatloaf with mashed potatoes.

La gumbo Ya Ya

Mobile truck

Can’t decide between a po’ boy or lumpia? You don’t have to! La Gumbo would love to sate those cravings with its fusion Puerto Rican pork po’ boy or Caribbean pork po’ boy.

726 W. Sheridan

This place opens at 10 a.m. and closes by 4 p.m., so plan accordingly. You won’t want to miss the campfire breakfast wrap filled with bacon, eggs and cheese, or try the chipotle turkey wrap for lunch.
