OKG7 game-day stops

Every week, we give you seven OKC-area restaurants to explore.

Jenn Scott September 11th, 2013

Do you have home-game tickets this college football season? If not, find somewhere to get your fill of the gridiron with a big screen and some food, and have as much fun as the people in the stadium.

Louie’s Grill & Bar
301 W. Boyd St., Norman
louies.ehsrg.com
366-6291

Hal Smith Restaurant Group has a little something for everyone. In this case, it’s big screens and Golden Tee, a popular golfing arcade game, as well as delicious pub food with a gourmet twist — all at prices that won’t break your pocketbook. Enjoy a brew on the patio, and then move indoors when it’s game time.

Republic Gastropub
5830 N. Classen Blvd.
republicgastropub.com
286-4577

The first thing you’ll notice is the wall of beer bottles. A wide selection of beers isn’t the only thing this upscale pub has to offer. Enjoy crave-worthy food, plenty of TVs broadcasting the game — whether home or away — and a killer patio that boasts a glass wall, so even if you’re outside, you’ll still have a view of the screens.

Belle Isle Brewery
1900 Northwest Expressway
belleislerestaurant.com
840-1911

The brewery’s beer specials are enough to draw anyone back. Live music is upstairs; during football season, downstairs is game-watchers’ heaven. Pub food, beer and screens help keep you in the game loop. If you can stand to be away from the TV for a little while, the patio provides an escape from the noise.

Upper Crust Wood Fired Pizza
5860 N. Classen Blvd.
uppercrust.ehsrg.com
842-7743

Whether you like sports or not, the fire-roasted pie sauce here is a game-changer.
Order a pizza and a cocktail, and enjoy the game as well as the sleek design that’s representative of Classen Curve. There’s ample bar seating, as well as booths with TV views.

Deep Deuce Grill
307 NE Second St.
235-9100

Not only does it have a terrific patio, perfect for autumn weather, but grill staff also sets up TVs outside when football season kicks off. So whether you’re eating or drinking, stay outside and enjoy the cooler breezes while cheering on your team.

Dan McGuinness Pub
3005 S. Broadway, Edmond
danmcguinnespub.com
359-2222

This Irish pub is equipped for all things celebratory. Smithwick’s and Guinness on tap pair nicely with a basket of fried pickles or buffalo chicken skewers. Like it on Facebook for updates on food and drink specials and game coverage.

Thunder Roadhouse Cafe
900 W. Memorial Rd.
thunderroadhousecafe.com
752-6073

If you’re scouting places with TVs to view football and Thunder seasons, you’ve found a stellar place in Thunder Roadhouse. Enjoy beer and burgers, as well as the daily special. Like the cafe on Facebook for updates on its renovation and game-day fun!
