The House resolution passed, and voting for the official state rock 'n' roll song is well underway "¦ and, looking at the list, the state's reputation might already bein danger.

Public nominations must be written or recorded by an Oklahoman and submitted online. Nominations will be whittled down to 10 finalists by a Legislature-appointed committee and put up to an Internet vote of the people from Sept. 1 through Nov. 15.

Current nominations include: Cradle of Filth's "Tonight in Flames," The Gap Band's "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" and several Hinder and Flaming Lips tracks.

Don't want Toby Keith or Hanson reppin' Okie rock? Then get online and exercise your civic responsibility! "Joe Wertz
