OKC mayor to appear on State of the Union PBS special

Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett will join a PBS NewsHour for a two-hour broadcast of President Obama's State of the Union Address and the Republican response. The show airs 8 p.m. Tuesday on PBS.

Co-anchors Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill will host live political analysis from Mark Shields and David Brooks as Obama addresses a joint session of congress and the Republican response from Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

Show analysts include syndicated columnist Shields and New York Times columnist Brooks with panelists Cornett; Scott Smith (R), Mesa, Ariz.; Marilyn Strickland (D) of Tacoma, Wash. and Pedro Segarra (D) of Hartford, Conn.

Joining them will be policy advocates Angela Glover Blackwell, Founder and CEO of Policy Link, a national research and action institute advancing economic and social equity and Michael Tanner, Senior Fellow at the CATO Institute, a libertarian think tank.
