Legendary football coach Barry Switzer “has no filter.”
NewsOK reported recently that the former Sooners frontman “says what’s on his mind.” Switzer’s got a gift for gab, and for finding the longest route to a compliment.
Recently, the retired coach told a Nashville radio station that he said he’d “never hire a white quarterback.”
Oh hi, Troy Aikman. Aikman himself jumped into the fray via Twitter and said, “Hmmm, what about me? Ha!” True, true. Recently, he also called former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel “an arrogant little prick” during a St. Louis radio interview.
Manziel is the first college freshman to win the Heisman Trophy, and maybe the Oklahoma icon thinks he didn’t deserve it. Oh, and Manziel’s white.
“I’ve said that, and I’ll say it again. He’s a privileged kid, he’s embarrassed himself, he’s embarrassed his teammates, his program. He’s embarrassed his coach,” CBS Eye on Football quoted Switzer as saying.
Maybe Switzer was talking about Manziel’s partying. Wait. Seriously? This is the same coach who admitted he dropped $100 grand on liquor during a Super Bowl week, alleges Jeff Pearlman’s book Boys Will Be Boys.
Wait for it. Getting back on topic, Switzer also said, “And Johnny Manziel gets the ball to people. He’s the most dominant, most dynamic college quarterback I’ve ever seen.”
There we go!
