Let's keep the good news train chuggin' down the track, shall we?

So, the negative Nancys over in the Obama White House have released a report warning that climate change is going to lead to heat waves, drought and heavy rainfall for Oklahoma, according to an article in the Tulsa World.

John Holdren, the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy (say that three times fast!), said the report clearly pointed out that action is needed "sooner rather than later" and that it is simply too late to divert some of the damage, saying we need "local adaptation measures to reduce the damage from the changes that are no longer avoidable."

Adaptation? Like living underground as mole people?

What can we expect here in Oklahoma? How about heat waves that are even hotter, torrential downpours that will lead to flooding and waterborne diseases, wildfires and " our personal favorite " insect invasions. What? No rivers of blood, eruption of boils or the death of the first child of every household?

Come on, climate change, you can do better than this! It'll take more than some namby-pamby heat wave to convince us.

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., apparently agrees. Of course he does. He's called the report "phony," according to the World, and said it's all to pass some legislation.

"It is a phony report," he said.

"It's also no surprise that such a report was released just in time for the House vote on Waxman-Markey."

Waxman-Markey refers to a major House proposal on energy and climate. Remember, this is the same guy who earlier called global warming "the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people."

What about the other scientific hoaxes we're forced to deal with? You know, debunked crackpot theories such as heliocentrism and gravity.
