A family and Ideal Homes of Norman are asking people in the metro area to help "move that bus!" For the first time, ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" bus is pulling into town to change a family's life.

With a mission of giving back to the community, Ideal Homes was selected by the show's producers to build the new abode, solicit donations for supplies, and recruit and coordinate local volunteers to complete the six-day building project, said Ideal Homes spokeswoman Peggy Sealy.

To complete the makeover on time, the building must continue night and day, and Ideal Homes needs thousands to lend a hand. Volunteers are asked to select one six-hour shift when they are available to work. Building experience is not required, and Ideal Homes said "unskilled" laborers are needed to serve food, move materials, assist other volunteers and help with cleanup.

On Monday, the identity of the family will be revealed to Ideal Homes and the volunteers.

"The executive producers said they get about 1,500 to 3,000 applications per day, and on the short list of five people, you know each one is deserving (of this)," Sealy said.

To volunteer, visit www.idealextremehome.com. "LeighAnne Manwarren
