Oklahoma Cityans can "eat fresh" no more at the corner of N.W. 63rd Street and N. Western Avenue, as the Subway there has closed its doors. The franchisee of the sandwich shop watched as the Chesapeake Energy Corp. grew around him, but long had refused to give up his lease.

Eventually, money talks, and Chesapeake must have screamed loud, because the company doesn't seem too happy about it. Said Tom Price Jr., senior vice president for corporate development at Chesapeake to The Oklahoman, "There was a gentleman that made a lot of money, and he is going to relocate his Subway to another location with his pockets full of money."

Price declined, however, to say how much lettuce Chesapeake had to fork over to get franchisee Yogesh Mangu to take his onions elsewhere.

He did say that the building will be gone by next month. CFN pauses for a moment of silence in remembrance of all the tasty foot-long meatball subs enjoyed there.
