Patton Oswalt's biggest mainstream success to date is the family flick "Ratatouille," in which the comedian lent his voice to a lovable animated rodent. But Oswalt's standup routine is anything but G-rated.

If you like your comedy unapologetically misanthropic and laced with profanity, this is the comic for you. Oswalt's "Werewolves and Lollipops" falls a bit short of the twisted brilliance he revealed in 2004's "Feelin' Kinda Patton," but it still packs plenty of laughs.

His observations range from the allure of KFC's Famous Bowls ("I would like a failure pile in a sadness bowl") to the aesthetic of Cirque de Soleil ("Everything is wet and French and gay and on fire"). A staunch President George W. Bush hater, he likens Bush/Cheney to "The Dukes of Hazzard": "They should "¦ have Waylon Jennings come on, 'Can you believe these guys covered up a child molester for five years? Ain't no way they're getting outta this bucket o' syrup!'" The crowning moment of the performance arrives with Oswalt's scathing dissection of a heckler.
