Keep your expectations mild for "Jackass 2.5," a semi-sequel to last fall's high-grossing (in more ways than one) hit "Jackass Number Two." Premiering online and DVD rather than theaters, it's not so much a feature film as a 64-minute collection of footage they didn't use in "Two."

And that would be all fine and good, except that Johnny Knoxville, director Jeff Tremaine and the rest of the "Jackass" crew feel the need to explain the segments, as to what they were trying to do and what problems they encountered. But with concepts such as "fly a kite tied to anal beads," self-explanation is the name of the game. The guys didn't do behind-the-scenes post-reflective moments on MTV or in the movies, and it greatly slows down the pacing.

As for the pranks themselves, they're wildly mixed. Invading a grocery story on miniature motorbikes (with local BMX boy Mat Hoffman) is great; doing unspeakable acts with fireplace bellows is not. More often than not, these seem to be deleted scenes for a reason.

Interestingly, the actual 45 minutes of deleted scenes in the extras are better, including a "Naircut," a "rickshaw rumble" in India and a streetside-caf
