Nightfall

Grand Duel

Lee Van Cleef enjoyed a secondary career in Italy cranking out spaghetti Westerns, with little regard to quality. However, 1972’s Grand Duel — aka The Big Showdown — is deserving of its Grand label. No wonder Quentin Tarantino borrowed its sweeping theme song by Luis Bacalov for Kill Bill; you'll recognize it in two notes.

The Last Stand

Brian Hearn, OKCMOA film curator, agreed, and "Visual Acoustics" will play a special engagement at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the museum, 415 Couch. The documentary's director, Eric Bricker, will be in attendance to introduce his work and answer questions following the screening.

Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, the film chronicles the career of Shulman, arguably the 20th century's most iconic architectural photographer. Livingston said one need not have interest in the subjects to enjoy the film.

"My guess is your response would still be, 'Wow, that's something so meaningful I hadn't thought of before,'" he said.
