Some movies are just meant to be shown at midnight. Throughout September and October, metro movie buffs will get a chance to see some late night classics and more recent releases at the AMC Quail Springs Mall 24.
"Oklahoma City is also a lot more of a 'movie town' than people want to give it credit for," said Michael Friedman, AMC theater general manager. "There just really aren't theaters around here that show some of these classic movies, which is really too bad, because these films were just made to be on a big screen in a theater."
Midnight movies are a perfect match for the Halloween season, and the following are scheduled to be shown:
" Sept. 13-16: "Army of Darkness"
" Sept. 20-23: "The Lost Boys"
" Sept. 27-30: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"
" Oct. 4-Oct. 7: "Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles"
" Oct. 11-14: "The Exorcist"
" Oct. 18-21: "Friday the 13th"
" Oct. 25-28: "The Shining"
" Oct. 31-Nov. 4: "Poltergeist"
Friedman said plans are underway for a run of John Hughes comedies in November, as well as Christmas-themed films in December.
The films start just after midnight Thursday through Saturday and at 10 p.m. on Sunday. The movies also replay at 10 a.m. Friday through Sunday. "Joe Wertz
