The Oklahoma Sooner football team beat Utah State 54-3 on Owen Field today. The Sooner offense racked up more than 600 yards (623 to be exact) while limiting the visiting Aggies to just 153.

Freshman quarterback Sam Bradford began the game hitting 11 of 11 passes en route to a 19 of 26, 255-yard and three-touchdown performance before leaving the game in the third quarter with the Sooners comfortably leading the contest. However, after missing his first pass of the game, he threw an interception which inspired the Aggies' only scoring drive.

The Sooners rushed for 349 yards, with Allen Patrick and DeMarco Murray both topping the 100-yard mark. Murray's third-quarter 92-yard dash was the team's third-longest run in history. Patrick scored on a 69-yard run earlier in the game. Patrick finished the game with 113 yards rushing on eight attempts while Murray posted a gaudy 100 yards on four runs.

Juaquin Iglesias was Bradford's hottest receiver with 123 yards on eight catches; he also added a 35-yard run for the game's first touchdown. Malcolm Kelly caught six passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns. Joe Jon Finley also caught a Bradford touchdown pass and finished the game with three catches for 45 yards.

The Sooner defense scored a touchdown when linebacker Curtis Lofton intercepted a Utah State pass  and returned it 45 yards for a score.  The defense also recovered two Utah State fumbles and intercepted two Aggie passes.
