Escape from Tomorrow

With Escape from Tomorrow, one fears the story behind the movie would loom larger than the movie itself. Luckily, that is not the case. After all, it opens with a decapitation on Disney World’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster.

Broadchurch: The Complete First Season

Welcome to the coastal resort of Broadchurch, population … oh, who can keep track, what will all the corpses? Yes, Broadchurch is yet another British television procedural involving the search for a murderer in a quaint little town, just like the limited series The Fall and Top of the Lake.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

Essentially part five in the ridiculously profitable horror franchise, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones continues the found-footage conceit of the other films. Ocean's Thirteen

None June 14th, 2007

Reviewer's grade: C

George Clooney takes his third spin around the block as DannyOcean, a rich, well-connected, ever-smirking heist-meister and con man who revels in seemingly impossible challenges.

With the help of his pals Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon), Basher Tarr (an underused Don Cheadle), Saul Bloom (Carl Reiner), Frank Catton (Bernie Mac), Virgil Malloy (Casey Affleck), Roman Nagle (Eddie Izzard) and others, Ocean sets out to get revenge on Willie Bank (Al Pacino) for double-crossing friendly old Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould).

With an endlessly complicated plot that can be hard to follow at times and such a huge cast, it's best not to think too hard about this one. Simply rest assured that Ocean and company will come out on top, that bad guy Bank will get his due, and you'll get your money's worth of cool cars, clever quipping, keyed-up quandaries, clenched jaws and low-cut blouses. PG-13
