Beats Antique beats boredom. We’d expect nothing less from a band that bills itself as “live electro-acoustic, heavy bass, belly dancing and roots music.” In advance of its forthcoming album, the aptly titled Contraption Vol. 2, the group cranks up its Animale Mechanique Tour at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Diamond Ballroom, 8001 S. September just got here, but Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre is on November. David Mamet’s recent Broadway hit takes a satiric stab at the Oval Office, so expect as many laughs as F-bombs. Tenor saxophonist Denny Morouse blows into the UCO Jazz Lab, 100 E. Fifth in Edmond, for a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday.
