Oklahoma City natives Vince Gill and The Flaming Lips were among the musicians and performers who earned Grammy Award nominations when the list was announced Dec. 6.

 

Gill's "These Days" was nominated for Album of the Year while The Flaming Lips' "At War With the Mystics 5.1" will vie for best Surround Sound Album.

 

Checotah's Carrie Underwood is listed for Song of the Year and Female Country Vocal Performance for "Before He Cheats." Tulsa's Ronnie Dunn, part of the Brooks and Dunn duo, was nominated for Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for '"Proud Of The House We Built."

 

Finally, Stringtown's Reba McEntire was nominated along with Kelly Clarkson for the song "Because of You" in the best Country Collaboration With Vocals category.

 

The award presentation will take place Feb. 10 in Los Angeles.
