Martha Green, an OKC-based fiber artist (a fancy term for someone who works with fabrics) is leading a talk and demonstration tomorrow at JRB Art at The Elms.
The 3 p.m. event coincides with Green’s annual Valentine’s show at JRB, where she shows off her unique art, something she calls “crazy quilting.” What, no “quilters gone wild”? Anyway, this type of quilting basically means using irregular shapes and different types of fabric to create designs embellished with bits, baubles and ornate stitching. Kind of like a quirky fabric collage.
It’s all very pretty and romantic. (Hey, perfect for V-Day!) The talk will include Green explaining just how and why she does what she does, along with a demonstration of techniques.
