Ben Folds takes the Civic Center stage

You guys, excitement! Ben Folds is going to join the Oklahoma City Philharmonic for a November performance, and tickets are on sale … now! As in, they just opened to the general public today.

If you’ve never been to a Ben Folds concert, I highly (seriously, highly) recommend it. And being backed by the OKC Phil? I can only imagine how amazing they will be able to make “One Angry Dwarf” or “The Ascent of Stan.”

This isn’t Folds’ first time performing with symphonies. He’s performed with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and with Boston Pops. Yes, but does he break the orchestra into two sides to sing along with the chorus to “Army”? Either way, I can’t wait to find out.

The combo of awesome will take place Nov. 3 at the Civic Center. Visit okcphilharmonic.org for more info.

Here’s Folds performing “Zak and Sara” (one of my favorites) with the Western Australia Symphony Orchestra.

I saw him in Stillwater's OSU stadium several years back. He was AWESOME. Brought up the OSU Band to play the song "Army" with him.
