I was wandering around Edmond today for my ShopGirl column
(tough gig, right?) when I stepped inside Isabella
, a fab local boutique. I was on the hunt for something else, but I was caught by a collection of really fantastic totes. Even better, I learned they benefit a local organization called A Beautiful Dream Society.A Beautiful Dream Society
is based here, but helps the victims of human trafficking with a shelter in the African country of Lesotho. The organization (which is working toward nonprofit status) is working in four key areas to try and prevent human trafficking: victim relief, accountability of the perpetrator, care for the victim, and structural/societal changes. I absolutely love being able to help others through how I spend my money, and this is seriously a great opportunity to do just that.
The bags at Isabella are all one-of-a-kind and made right here in the metro. All proceeds (that’s 100 percent) go back to A Beautiful Dream Society. The large totes are made using a block patchwork of some rally cool fabrics and range in styles from floral and girly to downtown chic. Best of all, I was happy to learn they’re selling really well. Go check them out for yourself.
