The Professional Bull Riders announced that Oklahomans will again be able to watch the best bull riders in the world when the PBR Built Ford Tough Series returns to Chesapeake Energy Arena on Jan. 25-27, 2013.

The BFTS features the best, highest-paid bull riders on the planet, including PBR World Champion Silvano Alves, and home state favorites Austin Meier of Kinta, Ryan McConnel of Atoka, Cord McCoy of Tupelo, L.J. Jenkins of Porum, and Ryan Dirteater of Hulbert.

Fans will witness thrilling 8-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks throughout the adrenaline-soaked performance as the PBR’s insanely brave cowboys risk it all against monstrous animal athletes that can weigh as much as 2,000 pounds.

Bull riding begins at 8 p.m. on Jan. 25, at 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 26, and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 27. Tickets are on sale now at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office, www.Ticketmaster.com, and by telephone at (800) 745-3000.

The PBR will celebrate 20 years of competition with the 2013 season. More than 100 million viewers watch primetime PBR programming annually on networks around the world and nearly two million fans attend PBR events each year. PBR has awarded over $120 million dollars in prize money over 20 years of competition, including a $1 million dollar bonus to the PBR World Champion each year.

Each of the Top 35 riders in the world will ride on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Oklahoma City. Following Round 2 on Saturday, the riders with the 10 highest scores will each compete with one more bull. Following Round 4 on Sunday, the riders with the 10 highest cumulative scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round where they will compete with one more bull. The overall event winner will be the rider with the highest combined score from all five rounds.

Oklahoma City will be the fourth stop on the 2013 BFTS schedule, which will open at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 4-6. The season will conclude Oct. 23-27 in Las Vegas with the PBR Built Ford Tough World Finals, where the PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus. The richest bull riding event in the world, the World Finals has a total purse of more than $2 million.
