STUDIO STUDENTS DIVE INTO DISNEY’S LITTLE MERMAID JR AT SOONER THEATRE

Norman, Okla. – More than 60 third to seventh grade students of The Studio of The Sooner Theatre will present Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr., the first of two full-scale school year productions starring students, February 1-3, 2013.

The cast includes 8-13 yr. old students, who come from all reaches of the south metro, including Moore, Norman and South Oklahoma City.

“I am very excited about this show! Disney just released the rights to do it late last year, so we have been waiting patiently.” Said Jennifer Baker, Sooner Theatre Executive Director. “It’s so fun to see what our small performers do with the material we give them, and this show is going to be great!”

Show times and dates are:
Friday, February 1, 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 2, at 2 and 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, February 3, at 2 p.m.

Some principle roles are double cast.

“Many times, youth productions are very limited on what they do technically in shows, but these performers work with professional set and lighting designers, sound engineers and costumers, so they get to experience a very professional production,” said Baker.

Tickets are $10 per person and are on sale to the public now. Group rates are available for 10 or more tickets to any one performance. Tickets can be purchased online at www.soonertheatre.com any time day or night, or by phone at (405) 321-9600 or at the Sooner Theatre box office, Tuesday – Friday, 10 a.m. – noon and 2-5 p.m.

Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.  421 West 54th Street, New York, NY 10019 Phone: (212) 541-4684 Fax: (212) 397-4684 www.MTIshows.com
