Carpenter Square Theatre Announces Auditions for ‘My Name is Asher Lev’

     Carpenter Square Theatre will hold auditions for “My Name is Asher Lev” at 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 9 at the theatre’s office at 806 W. Main in downtown Oklahoma City.  Actors should be prepared to attend additional readings at 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, February 10.  

     “My Name is Asher Lev” by Aaron Posner is based on acclaimed writer Chaim Potok’s classic novel by the same name.  The comedy-drama, which will perform April 5-27, follows a young art prodigy in the 1950s as he struggles with his parents, his religion, and his insatiable love of art.   

     Director Rhonda Clark seeks two men, one aged 20s and the other 40s-50s, as well as one woman aged 30s to 40s.  Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script, and should bring a resume and recent photo.
