UCO SPRING CAREER AND INTERNSHIP FAIR SET FOR FEB. 6

The University of Central Oklahoma will host its Spring Career and Internship Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 6 in the ballrooms on the third floor of Central’s Nigh University Center.

Presented by Central’s Career Services office, students will have the opportunity to make contacts and connect with many local and national organizations interested in hiring Central students or graduates.

More than 50 organizations including American Fidelity, City National Bank and Trust, Cox Communications, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and Oasis Counseling Center are registered for the fair. Each business will provide attendees with information about career and internship opportunities within their organizations.

“When searching for a job or an internship, networking is essential and our fairs provide students the opportunity to take advantage of meeting recruiters from multiple organizations and industries at one convenient location and time,” said Dawna Terrell, assistant director of Career Services at Central.

“It also provides our freshmen and sophomores the opportunity to investigate specific career fields and what employers look for in a candidate when hiring.”

Professional attire is required for entry and the fair is free and open to the public.  Participants are encouraged to bring several copies of their resumes to leave with employers.
