Oklahoma City, OK – It's said that 90% of our population ingests caffeine on a daily basis. And we all know that the morning cup of coffee or afternoon espresso becomes a habit, which eventually becomes... a daily grind. But options do exist, which is why The LAB has originated the travelling Caffeine Crawl.

The principle follows that of the pub-crawl, though in this case, participants are free to take part in as many unique caffeinated beverages and chocolate as they desire, worry-free. This is the first time that Oklahoma has seen such an event. This is the 9th Caffeine Crawl since its launch in September of 2011.

It will take place on Saturday, February 16th from 11am to 4pm. The Caffeine Crawl will begin for ticket holders at two different locations, Coffee Slingers Roasters and Elemental Coffee Roasters, the two Co-Roaster Level Sponsor for this event. Each of the six participating shops start the caffeinated fun with an educational presentation and samples for ticket holders. Attendees for the Crawl receive a goodie bag full of schwag, program, a ticket to all six of the participating shops, and a drink or chocolate sample at each one. As consumers, most of the time we visit specialty shops like the ones participating in the Crawl, but we don’t get the opportunity to interact with baristas, roasters and chocolatiers producing our favorite treats. This event breaks down that barrier, and gives the coffee and chocolate enthusiast the time to engage and learn about the processes used to create these artisan and specialty products.

The four other shops participating in the Crawl include: Café Evoke (Edmond), Cuppies and Joe, Syrup Breakfast Boutique (Norman) and t, an urban teahouse. Topics are to be determined. The combination of shops includes an array of cutting-edge brewing methods, roast profiles and additional education on the industry.

Those that miss the Caffeine Crawl can join everyone for a get together and festivities at Café Evoke at 4:30p that Saturday. That portion of the event will feature a raffle of food and beverage prizes, a special guest appearance from the award-winning Askinosie Chocolate. The proceeds from the raffle will go to the charity affiliate.
